The Society of Friends of Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin awards Dr. Felix Willems with the Ernst-Eckhardt-Koch Prize 2019 for his outstanding doctoral thesis in the field of research with synchrotron radiation either performed at HZB or at DESY in Hamburg.

Felix' thesis entited "Ultrafast optical demagnetization dynamics in thin elemental films and alloys: foundations of and results from helicity-dependent and time-resolved XUV spectroscopy"  was supervised by TRR 227 PIs Prof. Stefan Eisebitt and Dr. Clemens von Korff Schmising.
