Doctoral Seminar
A measure to improve presentation skills are doctoral seminars. These seminars are intended for the doctoral researchers only, without the participation of the PLs. This implies that the full organization (timing, discussion leading) are in the responsibility of the iRTG members, excluding the PLs. The events take place twice per year, once in Berlin, and once in Halle.
The doctoral candidates are strongly encouraged to participate in all doctoral seminars and to give two scientific presentations on his/her progress during the doctorate. At the early stage, the doctoral candidates will give basic, methodically focused talks. The second talk is intended to be rather at the end of the doctorate work, thus highlighting the main results of the own work.
The doctoral seminars always include a poster session for those doctoral researchers, who are not giving a talk. Furthermore the best poster is awarded and get a poster prize.
