Advanced Training Module - Laser-driven Resonant Soft-X-ray Scattering probing Antiferromagnetic & Structural Dynamcis
In this lab course, you will work with a tabletop setup for picosecond soft-X-ray resonant magnetic scattering experiments. For that, the broadband emission of a laser-driven plasma X-ray source from 500–1500eV is employed.
You will first statically characterize the antiferromagnetic and structural Bragg peaks of on artifical AFM sample (Fe/Cr superlattice).
Afterward, you will probe both, the structural and AFM dynamics, in a single pump-probe experiment.
In the second (optional) part of the lab course on a subsequent day (onsite or online), you will learn how to model the static as well transient results, using the open-source Python toolbox udkm1Dsim.
